A committed social work

A committed social work - 2018.

4

Since the 1990s, social workers have been mobilizing on diverse fronts by means of trained collectives formed outside of labor and associative unions. The emergence of these structures has less to do with a crisis of commitment and rather reflects a movement of continuity which experiences periods of ebb and flow, prompted by the socio-political contexts and the reorganization of public policies which affect social work. However, the commitment at the heart of these collectives has more to do with seeking a common middle ground which protects the identity base of professionals than an alternative to the classic more militant frameworks.
