How do social workers build their professional identity between the classic reading list and a diversity of sources of information, such as different types of fiction, film, and music? Sources of inspiration can be varied, sometimes atypical and perhaps against the grain of convention, whether it be during the student’s education or professional work. This inclination is relevant, already recognized and present in the bibliographies of student writings. Recognizing this makes it possible to question why and how it is used.
