Amid an environment where professional identities are lost in childcare settings, a place where rationality prevails over quality, it seems imperative to reflect on professional socialization and well-being at work in daycare. How can professionals continue in their jobs if they do not find meaning in their work? How can children and their families be welcomed when professionals are themselves struggling with daily pressures and do not share a common culture?
