Recent advances in archaeometric research have made it possible to confirm the Egyptian origin of colourless glass decolorized with antimony, the quality glass that reigned supreme on Roman tables from the Flavian period until the early 4th century. The repertoire and dating of this tableware has been determined by studying assemblages from Gaul and Rome.
