Taking inspiration from the concept of récit de mobilité, the récit d’établissement is operative to analyze the discourse of foreign students who, having graduated, decide to stay in the country of their studies. The article will also consider the impact of the paysage discursif—the surrounding voices (people, media, institutions) expressing themselves on the brain drain / brain gain phenomenon—in these narrations.
