This research examines the contribution of Morocco’s tourism development strategy for 2020 (Vision 2020) to the fight against regional tourism inequalities in the country. From the study we conducted, we came to the following conclusions: Moroccan tourism has undergone a spectacular development since the beginning of the 2000s, whether in terms of increased accommodation capacity, international tourist arrivals, or revenues generated. The development of the Moroccan tourism industry has been accompanied by clear regional inequalities. These inequalities stem from the tourism choices made by the colonial authorities, which introduced modern tourism to the country. These choices have continued to inspire the public authorities and private actors of independent Morocco. Vision 2020, which enshrines the principle of regionalizing tourism development in the country, does not seem to be able to combat the tourism imbalance between the regions of Morocco.
