This article analyses the symbolic framings of the Greek financial crisis, as they appear in an online LinkedIn discussion group. Drawing on recent theories regarding the narrative constructions of “cultural traumas”, it aims to establish the discursive scope of the crisis as designed by the members of the group. It also considers two fundamental elements: the role of the social network and the importance of the users’ preexisting thought patterns, which we refer to as “dispositions”.
