Self-Representation in the Unstable Child as Revealed by the Rorschach Test - 2005.

79

The basic aim of our research was to detect how the representation of self and the representations of relations are organized in the unstable child. Our population was made up of 30 Turkish children aged from 6 to 10, diagnosed as presenting an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder - ADHD. We used the Rorschach test whose results suggested disturbances of self representation in these children, a sign of fragility in their feeling of identity. We found risks of attacks on the integrity of self image when confronted with the force of drive movements. The problem here is the non elaboration of the depressive position where maniac defenses are set into place to fight against the anxiety of object loss. The deficiency of interiorization and the great fragility at the level of identifications is manifested by the frequency of vague, badly constructed representations which are undifferenciated as to sex.
