The concept of a situation is surprisingly under-utilized in management. The aim of this article is to investigate the relevance of this concept for understanding organizational complexity. We also show that this notion allows us to consider the different interactions between actors, their intentionality, and the dynamics of these interactions. Finally, we propose a definition of the notion of a management situation.
