This article deals with the renewal of industrial policies by the French regions in the context of the strengthening of their economic and planning competences. It is first based on the literature devoted to the notions of industrial policy and regional planning, highlighting the recent convergence of these two notions, particularly through sectoral policies. Secondly, the article studies the intervention of four regions (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Hauts-de-France, Occitanie, and Pays de la Loire) through the analysis of regional economic development documents and roadmaps dedicated to the hydrogen sector and a series of semi-structured interviews. These approaches make it possible to examine the appropriation of sectoral industrial policies by the regions. JEL Codes: H76, L52, O21, O25
