The authors, both hospital doctors, investigate the role of the patient and his/her voluntary participation in the healing process. They remind us of the professional duty all medical practitioners have toward patients, to protect the patient and to protect themselves from the patient, and the essential humility they must acquire. They then go on to make a list of the points of law relative to the patient’s rights and the quality of the health system as in March 2002, while giving a detailed description.
