Ethical Principles for a Philosophy of Accompaniment - 2004.

55

The recent enthusiasm for accompaniment might well be just a trendy idea. However, it might also be the sign of a genuine paradigm shift in education. In this case, it seems urgent to reflect on the matter from an ethical as well as an epistemological point of view, in order to help practitioners improve both how they think about or theorize “accompaniment”, and how they carry out their theory in practice. Thus, by addressing questions ranging from the emergence of a possible paradigmatic postulate to the attempt to formulate ethical principals related to practice, the present article aims to contribute, albeit modestly, to a conceptualization of the notion of accompaniment.
