Algorithms, diachronic forms, and metadesign - 2016.

Algorithms for machine learning and deep learning seem to provide an opportunity for the design project to consider processed data as material whose integration in the design of products and services for the general public questions the methods and the ambition of the design project. Such experiential forms are conversational and diachronic. They incarnate the settings and architecture of exchanges in movement as dynamic intermediary objects, synthesizing the interaction between the designer, the user’s behavior, and the patterns’ self-learning ability. Theoretically, the variation of such new forms is infinite. But many of them are recurring archetypes. We explore the duality between the perceived emerging opportunities against language constraints, empowerment opportunities, as well as perspectives for project design practice.
