This contribution has been presented in a workshop during the second of the Swiss Days of Family Therapy and Systemic Interventions. A two-stage study with parents of hospitalized children and with the therapeutic team highlighted how parenthood can be unsettled. It is well known that parents are affected by what happens to their child in matters of health, but the real needs of parents are still to be known and evaluated. The clinical study mentioned some practical recommendations for the benefit of parents and children during the crisis phase of hospitalization and for the benefit of the therapeutic team.
