In the current reception procedure for adolescents and their parents at the Maison des Adolescents in Yvelines Sud, the biggest pitfall for the therapeutic staff is the risk of collusion with certain defense mechanisms of the youths and/or their families. Such collusion can hamper the work of narration and coconstruction during encounters, starting with the adolescents’ representations of their immediate environment, difficulties in finding their way, and of the resources available in their area.
