From common sense to its “healthy core”. The historicity of common sense according to Gramsci

From common sense to its “healthy core”. The historicity of common sense according to Gramsci - 2023.
93
Gramsci puts forward, in his Prison Notebooks, some propositions on common sense. From them, a method is conceivable that would allow one to elaborate a history of common sense and a history of philosophy as a practice of transformation of common sense. Five theses, in particular, will be examined: 1) all men are philosophers; 2) the history of philosophy delivers a deformed history of common sense; 3) common sense has levels of historical deepness; 4) there is a healthy core of common sense (good sense); 5) the transformation of common sense requires a molecular process by means of which a person develops a critical awareness of his ways of thinking, feeling, and acting.
