Many professionals find themselves faced with negligence, and this confrontation seems to become inevitable when one is in the clinic of wandering. If the negligence of these subjects appears first and foremost as a disturbing reality or simply as an epiphenomenon naturally resulting from the state of precariousness of the individual, the authors here make it a central question, fully and deeply inscribed in the psychodynamics of wandering. Concerning itself with the important and even necessary role that it plays in the psychic functioning of these people, they propose three functions of carelessness.
