Starting from the study of a clinical case from our practice, we propose to question the place of scarification today, notably in its symptomatic condition. We will be particularly interested in the action of scarification, especially in the different ways it can be understood from psychiatric and psychoanalytical perspectives. Our argumentation will lead us to introduce the act of enunciation from which the symptom get a particular status and to discuss the position of the clinical psychologist in the transference’s dynamic where certain details that we have discussed may find their coordinates as symptoms.
