Dedicating Oneself to Work . . . When One Loses It - 2011.
16
The experience of redundancy, no matter how personal, gives a renewed insight into commitment to work. It reveals the strength of the emotional links to a job. At such a time, speaking about work is less restrained: the feelings expressed by the employees move away from a superficial discourse. Four experiences of redundancy are presented here. They show the diversity of attitudes towards work and the sources of the hurt brought about by its loss.
