The author examines the conditions and pitfalls of setting up filiation links within homoparental families. A serious psychic work is required before conception, whatever the used procedure is. In every case, the place of the third participant is unavoidable at the imaginary level and can get through to a symbolic status. The setting up of the links would be also connected to the sharing of parental functions which is negotiated by the couple and to a new allocation of authority within the family. In the particular case of Brazil, where homosexual unions seem to be especially decried, making them legal should erase the shame linked to it and which sometimes creates a child’s production as a false evidence of heterosexuality.
