After summarising the question of the number, the location and the shape of the Augustean arches in the eastern side of the Forum Romanum, this article proposes a new reading of a Campana plaque in the Louvre Museum, where is depicted a triumphal arch with three archways and a rich statuary ornamentation. The analysis of its structural features and iconography allows to recognise here the picture of a real monument, despite the conventions required by this kind of document. It would, in fact, reproduce—if we observe all the features—the “Parthian Arch,” in its second phase, contemporary to the departure of C. Caesar to the East. This observation can lead, moreover, to clarify the question of its location in relation to Caesar’s Temple.
