Some unpublished photographs of the “goldsmith’s jar” recovered by André Parrot in 1933, together with the excavation archives kept at the Musée du Louvre and the Maison Archéologie & Ethnologie René Ginouvès in Nanterre, give us an opportunity to reassess the question of “treasure jars” filled with pieces of silver, which were recovered from several sites of the Ancient Near East.
