The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of research on digital or multimedia learning supports. Taking several studies by Alain Lieury as our starting point, we explore three types of learning support successively : the first is linked to text and illustrations, the second to educational videos, and the third to video games. Our analysis of the literature distinguishes between the different scientific approaches (media comparisons, value added, and cognitive consequences) applied to these learning supports, demonstrating their useful contributions, while also highlighting the need for more studies in line with the value-added approach.
