A sufficiently alienating institution—or, what makes an encounter? - 2018.

How is it possible to help psychotic patients develop their autonomy within everyday life in a transition home? Through reciprocal recognition, human relationships build a bridge between the internal life of psychotic patients and the world outside. But due to the specific psychological structure of psychosis, these links can only be perceived as alienation. Using Aulagnier’s theories of encounter, identification, and alienation, and through detailed analysis of clinical situations, the author uses everyday situations to create the conditions necessary for her patients to reclaim their inner life.
