“Texting”, yes, but analytically ?
Braun, Sophie
“Texting”, yes, but analytically ? - 2014.
65
Work with adolescents and young adults forces the conventional setting to mutate. Text messages and e-mails become common currency. They challenge the therapeutic bond, relationship, commitment, and transference, and extend the relational space-time. Expressing a need to maintain an anaclitic bond, and an excellent flight mechanism, they put us to work with these young, disoriented patients desperately seeking an adult and a therapist, in order to structure themselves. The analyst’s internal framework is intensely solicited.
