As a medical specialization originating from the same roots as psychoanalysis, neurology currently seems to dismiss this shared heritage. Current research in neurobiology provides a glimpse of the negative consequences of such denial. In fact, it explicitly aims to act on the consumer’s neural networks without taking the word into account. Is the subjugation of human beings, denounced in every form by Gori, prevailing under the guise of “neuroeconomics”? Far from having any stable definition, the relationship between psyche and body is at the heart of an ongoing debate. It is in this respect that psychoanalysis itself can contribute, far from any conformism and away from a single mindset.
