For some mothers, the distorded voice break that can appear at puberty of their son is a source of concern that can go as far as suffering. Because of the close link that connects voice and sexuality, this passage from one voice to another, at the same time as it brings about an actualization of the son’s Oedipus complex, can cause the mother to reappear in her own psychic problems not solved, in parallel with current problems specific to the period of life that she is going through. It is these different psychic movements, brought to light by the distorted voice break of the son, that we propose to study in this article.
