60
This article sheds psychoanalytic light on the effects of the pandemic and of lockdown measures on a psychiatric institution during the “first wave” of the COVID-19 pandemic, interpreted as a form of distancing from the Other. The clinical attention paid to this dimension allows for a description of the consequences on the registers of space and time, but also on a specific modality with regard to proximity relationships, introducing the concept of the neighbor, or Nebenmensch (“the next-person”) in Freudian terms.
