The struggle becomes entangled with love. Would man and woman be like Jacob’s fight with the angel? Couple as wrestlers? Catherine Pozzi and Paul Valéry, Kafka and Milena, Pierre Jean Jouve and Blanche Reverchon – lovers indeed, but also writers. The “between us” is not just about bodies seeking and finding each other but also about a shared act of writing. Alterity as a stumbling block gives each of us the measure of our own strength – the strength to live, but also the strength to write. The approach of the different forms taken by this struggle – body to body, but also writing against writing – reminds us of a literary kaleidoscope – as well as clinical.
