7

This study analyzes the monetary and non-monetary determinants of child labor in the different regions of Cameroon according to the socio-demographic characteristics of households and individuals and the gender of workers. The study uses microeconomic data from the third Cameroon Household Survey (CHS III) carried out in 2007. The results obtained from a multinomial logit model show that in urban areas, income does not affect child labor while this effect is negative and significant in rural areas. However, the effect of land ownership is positive in both urban and rural areas.JEL Codes: E24, J21, J24, J31, O15.
