By looking at the digital collections of memories and their mediations, in archives, museums, and libraries, this contribution tries to find how we can— between practices and discourses— define the objects of a piece of research in information and communication science and in some neighboring disciplines concerning the relationship between heritage and digital technology. The reflections focus on some recurring points of a limited bibliography considered from an epistemological perspective.
