For an eleven-year-old girl who has undergone hospitalizations and medical treatments due to renal failure, the early teens may be particularly challenging. I will report the follow-up of Ella who was referred to me by her pediatric nephrologist for compliance and behavioral problems. The drawings that Ella has made of herself, depicting a mouse with a tail-catheter in its belly, and those of her family, in which she no longer appears, will be discussed.
