The November 2005 riots raise questions concerning the social and political model, its internal borders, its dynamics and its tolerance. The analysis of press reporting helps to understand the socio-political norms as defined by media representations and to appreciate the logics both of comprehension or of banishment as they relate both the young perpetrators of violence and the suburbs in question.
