The proximity approach to territory-based economic dynamics develops the idea that a territory's specific resources reveal themselves over the long term from a process of coordination between actors. In this paper, we apply this theoretical approach to the case of environmental resources by defining the conditions for a mutual dynamic linking a territory's actors working for the integration of environmental constraints in the process of production. We stress the dual dimension of such a process of territorial construction, including the importance of collective discussion of environmental value and the emergence of cognitive resources from coordination among actors.
