Pragmatism at the Heart of Gestalt Therapy
Béjà, Vincent
Pragmatism at the Heart of Gestalt Therapy - 2010.
80
In this article, the author first presents Pragmatism and some significant elements of the ideas of its principle American protagonists. It underlines, in a brief second part, that which he feels contributes directly and fundamentally to Gestalt-Therapy, and then develops the notion of experience, taken in all its existential fullness with consequent practices, as well as its corollary: all truth is a truth produced for and within a situation. Finally, the author explores the reasons for the strange ignorance surrounding Pragmatism up until the present time, and suggests that it may be in our interest to reclaim it.
