Who can we turn to when we feel a need for help when faced with the process of aging? The author went looking for readings on this subject: a novel by Philip Roth (Exit Ghost ), a comic book by Martin Veyron (Blessure d’amour propre ), an essay by Jean Améry (Du vieillissement – révolte et résignation ), some pages from Serge Ginger (Bien vivre la vieillesse ). Having done this, he roams from horrible or grotesque portraits of unpityingly lucid images to good advice that may comfort us.
