Ireland in the Face of an Eventual Hitler Invasion - 2008.

91

Did Hitler in the Second World War ever seriously contemplate the invasion of Ireland?? The poor relations between London and Dublin encouraged the F??hrer to think that such an invasion would receive the overall support of the Irish. In the summer of?1940, however, a report from Admiral Raeder, head of the Seekriegsleitung, dampened his enthusiasm, and he never raised the question again.
