Constraints linked to the pandemic push us to the essential. I pay more and more attention to the “self-support” (internal autonomy) that Fritz Perls had already mentioned. The current term “grounding” sums up the different components described by Laura Perls based on what happens in the body. The self-support forms the ground for the therapeutic alliance that is established. The co-created resonance during the therapeutic situation gradually generates more empowerment of the client. We have to be particularly attentive to this nowadays with all of the individual and collective crisis situations emerging.
