Today, one of the missions of social work is to support social change. The latter manifests itself, in particular, through collective ecological mobilizations. In a rural area studied in the course of a research project, an ecological conflict is overtaken by violence, producing, among other things, omerta and division. The aim of this article is to identify the place of social work in this context. Social engineering skills are put to work in support of the reconfiguration of social work in a territory in ecological conflict. Activists, social actors, and political and institutional actors appear to be weak, isolated, and/or hindered for a variety of reasons, which are explored in the course of the article.
