This paper assesses research conducted by the journal Herodote’s team about a great variety of political situations in France and the political strategies and perception that legitimize them. It traces the evolution of our intellectual approach back to 1981: decentralization, regionalisation, post-colonial immigration, evolution of the national sentiment and the importance of the territorial dimension our analyses.
