The Francophonie in Algeria

The Francophonie in Algeria - 2004.

How the Francophonie is perceived in Algeria of today? Admittedly, like elsewhere, Francophonie is not francophilia there, because Algeria developed for a long time, and even more since 1830, of the roots on the side of an arabo-Islamic identity. However French, language of colonial oppression, is there also language of opening to modernity, of release of the traditional taboos. The political power used this legitimate search of an identity other than French to try to impose an Arab monolinguism. The current tendency of return to French, in the writing and the oral examination, is done from the multilingual point of view, which returns its place to French, but also with the mother tongues Berber and spoken Arabic. However the francophonie of as much will be accepted better than it will be able to leave its place with the international Arab language.
