In recent decades, the question of integrating technology in schools regularly reappears in a cycle of positivist discourse, while the policies applied produce an equally regular cycle of disappointment. Radio, television and computers, and now information and communication technologies, are all ranged under the “digital” banner, a term whose emergence and presence in official discourse we analyse here.
