Emotions can be modified by medicine and technology, particularly information technology which creates the illusion of a synchronicity that brings about their disappearance or, on the contrary, their upsurge. We can also act on emotions in the aim of inhibiting the most troublesome ones and thereby increase the effectiveness of the soldier in combat. However, by making them disappear totally, do we not run the risk of losing an ethical boundary?
