“The joys and the hopes (…) especially those who are poor or in any way afflicted” (GS 1)
Le Méhauté, Frédéric-Marie
“The joys and the hopes (…) especially those who are poor or in any way afflicted” (GS 1) - 2015.
67
Listening to the voice of the poor renews our vision of human beings and gives resonance to the unsuspected harmonics of the Word of God at the intersection of the Scriptures and human words that have ripened under the particular experience of precariousness. The preferential option for the poor is invited to take into consideration its spiritual dimension. Nurtured by this act of listening, engagement for social justice and proclamation of the Gospel, far from being opposed, are mutually reinforcing.
