Entrepreneurial Survival in Africa: The Case of Guinean Enterprises - 2011.

This paper presents the results of an investigation of approximately six thousand business-owning Guinean households over the period 2002?2003. It shows that in difficult economic and social situations, in which the State provides fewer basic social services, the creation of business activities remains the only alternative for families to survive. The businesses thus created have a short life because of their low level of capitalization and the confusion that surrounds their management.
