Over the past decade or so, Burkina Faso’s urban zones have seen the emergence of a voluntary sector for the advocacy and protection of the elderly. Aging in urban zones requires forms of belonging that transcend kinship and ensure security. This article aims to contribute to the study of the mobilization of the elderly as an interest group, in response to the directions taken by social policy in Burkina Faso.
