The role of diplomats goes beyond that of being negotiators of political or economic subjects stricto sensu. They are intercultural mediators, negotiating at several levels and from different cultures that are both national and ministerial. This contribution characterizes diplomatic negotiating cultures within the EU-CELAC interregional meetings, using culturalist and modelling theories.
