In a context of mistrust of traditional political organizations, and the erosion of belief in the ability of parliamentary regimes to promote the public expression of citizens, the author wished to focus on those who, through their associative commitment, are trying to “do politics” differently in Paris. We call them: “political alternatives.” Based on a triangulation of qualitative and quantitative methods, the goal of this article is to analyze the link between these associative activists and politics, but also their profiles, expectations, and practices for reappropriating politics through their involvement in the non-profit sector.
