The present-day crisis in Côte d’Ivoire, following the armed rebellion, brings to the fore the complex nature of relations existing between Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso. This is made clear by the treatment of the Burkinabe diaspora, which is very significant in number, during the crisis. This text reviews the establishment of the diaspora in Côte d’Ivoire, its ongoing relations with the home country, as well as the impact of the Ivorian crisis on these relations.
