We wanted to echo the meaning of Jean-Louis Le Moigne’s teachings, for us former students or teacher-researchers. Initially, our focus is on the meaning of systemics and its various interpretations. Additionally, we explore the construction of meaning from the transformation of a sign into information, and then the decision-making process from a systemic perspective. Finally, we scrutinize the question of meaning in the context of ethics (consciousness), pragmatics (action), and epistemics (science). “This is not just a scientific issue; it is more profoundly political and human, human in that it may concern the future of humanity” (Morin and Le Moigne, 1999).
